Privacy policy

TriCoach is a triathlon training app. It has no account, no server of its own,
no analytics and no advertising. Almost everything it does happens on your
iPhone.
What TriCoach reads
Apple Health. With your permission, TriCoach reads your workouts, heart
rate, resting heart rate and heart rate variability. It uses them on your
iPhone to score your training, estimate your thresholds and build your plan.
TriCoach does not write anything to Apple Health.
Strava and intervals.icu. If you connect either, TriCoach downloads your
own activities from it using the sign-in or API key you provide. When the same
session arrives from more than one source, the copies are merged on your
iPhone.
If intervals.icu is connected and you write a note about a day's training,
TriCoach also adds that note as a comment on the matching activities in your
intervals.icu account, so it's kept with the session. Only the note's text is
sent, to your own account.
If intervals.icu is connected, TriCoach also adds today's and tomorrow's
planned swims, rides and runs to your intervals.icu calendar as structured
workouts, so apps that sync from it can run them. It only ever changes or
removes the workouts it added itself.
Workout files. If you open a .fit, .gpx or .tcx file with TriCoach, it
reads the file on your iPhone. The file isn't uploaded anywhere.
What stays on your iPhone
Your workouts, training plan, races, thresholds, availability (hours, time per
day, trips), ratings, notes and any sessions you've removed from tracking are
stored on your iPhone only. API keys and sign-in tokens are stored in the
iPhone's Keychain.
When you send a session to your Apple Watch, it goes to Apple's Workout app on
your own devices through Apple's WorkoutKit. TriCoach doesn't send it anywhere
else.
The optional AI coach
The coach only works if you add your own Anthropic API key. Nothing is sent
until you ask the coach something, such as a take on a session, a question, a
change to your plan or a read on your weekly review. At that point TriCoach
sends Anthropic a summary so it can write the reply: session times, distances,
power, pace, heart rate, your ratings and notes, your thresholds and the next
two weeks of your plan.
Your name, location, email and raw workout files are never sent. Anthropic
handles that data under its own terms and privacy policy
(https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy), and any usage is billed to your
Anthropic account.
What TriCoach never does
TriCoach never sells your data. It never uses health data for advertising. It
never shares your data with anyone other than the services you connect
yourself.
Deleting your data
- Delete the app to remove everything it stored on your iPhone.
- Remove the AI coach key in Me → AI coach.
- Revoke Health access in Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → TriCoach.
- Disconnect Strava or intervals.icu in Me → Data. You can also revoke TriCoach's access in their own settings.
Children
TriCoach is not directed at children under 13 and doesn't knowingly collect
data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
