Fuel Perfect

Privacy policy

Effective date: June 9, 2026
Developer: Nils Albertsen
App: Fuel Perfect (iOS)

Summary

Fuel Perfect does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data on a server. Everything you enter stays on your device. The app makes weather requests to a third-party forecast service, but those requests contain only a location and a date, never your identity or your athlete profile.

Data We Collect

None.

Fuel Perfect has no account system and no backend. It does not collect analytics, crash reports, usage statistics, advertising identifiers, or any other identifiers of any kind.

Data Stored on Your Device

Fuel Perfect stores the information you enter locally on your device using Apple's on-device database (SwiftData) and standard preferences. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to the developer or anyone else.

DataWhat it storesWhere
Athlete profileBody weight, sweat rate / saltiness estimates, habitual carb tolerance, and unit preference (metric/imperial)On-device database (local only)
Saved plansEvent name, sport, duration, intensity, start time, the location you searched, and the generated fueling planOn-device database (local only)
Selected and custom fuelsProducts and homemade mixes you add to a planOn-device database (local only)

You can delete any plan at any time from within the app, which removes it from your device.

Network Access

Fuel Perfect connects to the internet for one purpose only: to look up weather for the event you are planning.

When you search for a location and generate a plan, the app sends the following to Open-Meteo (https://open-meteo.com), a third-party weather service:

  • The location text you type, to find matching places (geocoding).
  • The coordinates of the place you select and your event's date and time window, to retrieve the forecast or the typical historical conditions.

These requests do not include your name, your athlete profile, any account or device identifier, or any other personal information. Open-Meteo is a free, keyless service; Fuel Perfect does not send it an API key tied to you.

Aside from these weather lookups, Fuel Perfect makes no network requests. It has no server, no backend, and no analytics endpoint.

Third-Party Services

Fuel Perfect uses Open-Meteo solely for weather and geocoding, as described above. Open-Meteo's handling of requests is governed by its own privacy terms, available at https://open-meteo.com. Fuel Perfect uses no advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or other third-party tracking libraries.

Permissions Used

Fuel Perfect does not request access to your device location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera. You type the event location manually, so the app never reads your physical location.

Children's Privacy

Fuel Perfect does not collect any data from anyone, including children under 13. There is nothing to collect.

Changes to This Policy

If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be distributed with the app update and the effective date above will be revised.
